What is beauty? Where does it come from? Do we recognize it when we are confronted with it? As a community, we are constantly bombarded with ugliness that has the potential to monopolize our attention. Conflict, prejudice, judgment, heartache, and loneliness close our eyes to sparks of hope we encounter every day.
In taking the time to see beauty in unexpected people, objects, and ideas we make a conscious decision to be open. Sharing beauty, as well as seeing it through the eyes of another, broadens our perspective and connects us to people we might have otherwise felt worlds apart from.
We invite you to enjoy the beauty that others have found in our community and then take a few minutes to contribute something of your own. What is beautiful to you? Let your definition and experience of the word grow as you simultaneously help others to do the same.
